Do what is right to clean up our state

Dear Christians here in North Dakota, greetings.
You have been invited to spend a time at your friend’s home as a house-sitter. From the time you arrive to the time you depart, how do you treat their home? Do you “leave it in better condition than what you found it”? Do you pick up after yourself?
You don’t contaminate the main water source, do you? You don’t just toss your trash about, do you? You don’t ridicule your friend for their wanting you to respect their place do you? What if their friends or family asked you to respect and care for the place, do you ridicule them?
As Christian followers of Christ, what are you and I supposed to do with this verse in the Bible: “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to serve it and protect it.” (Genesis 2:15) Does it not apply to our care for the earth, the home God has given to us?
For what reason(s) are we remaining silent against the oil companies destroying our land in North Dakota? For what reason(s) are we questioning the methods and motives of our Native American neighbors for accomplishing the care God wants done with this planet? For what reason are we siding with the violators of our land, and not with the protectors of our land?
In the words of the prophet Micah, “…do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
